How To Look Great On A Budget!

What girl out there doesn't ALWAYS want to look great? You might think it is impossible to look like a million bucks when...well you just don't have it. But you'll be shocked to know that this couldn't be farther from the truth! :)  I have learned to be creative and thrifty while shopping to save money, especially now that i'm living on a college budget. So, here are a few of my tricks and tips I've picked up over the years to save some dough...enjoy! :)

1. Forget the trends! - Buy what you love and what makes you happy...who cares what the magazines and media say is "in" or "out"...Trends are changing every day and can get extremely costly. Besides, the fun of fashion is figuring out your own individual style! 
2. Shop second hand- A lot of people forget about these places or are too embarrassed, so thrifting can be a huge un-browsed through resource...pretty much meaning that you can find some amazing items here for some crazy great deals! In fact, some of my best pieces were found this way! 
3. Go through your closet regularly- If your not wearing it, well there's no point in having it take up valuable closet space! So, consign it!!! This is one of my favorites; I have made a ton of money taking my old somewhat used clothes to the nearest plato's closet or the like...use the cash that they give for stuff that you will actually wear! 
4. Online Shopping!- there are some amazing websites out there that can save you some serious cash! One of my absolute favorites is ASOS.com... yes they can be expensive BUT the key is that you have to look at the SALE section...duh right? lol but seriously some people think that this section just has old out of style pieces and that's why they are on sale, and that is usually the case, but not for ASOS :) Yay! Oh yeah and they update the sale section pretty much everyday! Another great site is 6PM.com...this is where i buy ALL of my shoes....and shoes are one thing that I definitely don't skimp on money wise....I HAVE to have leather...none of that faux crap. They just last so much longer...so ya, you can get some gorgeous shoes here for sometimes over 75% off!! :)
5. Make a list- After going through your closet, jot down some pieces that you need or just really want for the season before a big shopping outing. I cant stress this one enough...I have wasted a lot of money that I shouldn't have on things that I just don't need and bought as a spur of the moment thing and never even ended up wearing.
6. Last but not least, ...head on over to Forever 21... I am pretty obsessed with this store and could probably spend most of my day browsing through here, they have some great stuff for really unbeatable prices...especially lately they have been carrying a TON of vintage inspired items, which I obviously adore! :)
